AlcoholIt is council policy that NO alcohol product of any type is to be consumed at a public reserve. The Blacktown City Council policy is as follows:The taking in and consumption of alcohol is prohibited on all reserves within the councils area. There is a penalty of $500 for offences. The police have the authority to enforce this regulation. All reserves are covered by this policy and this policy applies to both clubs and individuals. Other Councils (e.g. Penrith, Liverpool, Parramatta) enforce similar policies. Alcohol CANNOT BE CONSUMED at reserves attached to licensed premises (such as Kemps Creek Sporting and Bowling Club). It is against licensing regulations and clubs can and are fined up to $10,000 for offences (as happened recently to KCSBC). From the GWBA Code of Behaviour: 8 (d): No player, coach, manager, assistant manager etc, or an umpire in uniform, shall consume liquor in or near a playing field where a game is in progress or about to commence. 8 (f): The use of tobacco products, alcohol or illegal drugs in any form by players or team officials in the dugout, on the benches or on the playing field area is not permitted. | |
